From carriages pulled by horses up to .......aircrafts

The first documents of the enterprise remind the postwar times. The documents of Vilnius city food provision small retail base date back 1946, when the enterprise of such type  „Rūta“ was working. At that time, as to carry food products, lorries pulled by horses were used, after changed by motorcycles, finally, by cars. At that time, „Rūta“ was the only trade enterprise in the city, which was implementing a fund trade – that is was providing budget organizations with food products. Budget organizations used to pay for goods  not using cash.

When Vilnius was expanding, a number of buyers was expanding together with the enterprise's turnover. In 1986, on the basis of „Rūta“, according to the order of the Ministry of Trade,  a shop of „Smulkus urmas“ was established and already in 1976 it moved to newly built premises at the address 126 Ukmergės street, in  Žvėrynas district – that is the target shop's address at present. The shop was set up as to provide children kindergardens, hospitals, pioneer camps, other institutions and organizations with food products.

In 1990, the enterprise's status was changed and a small retail shop was registered as a state enterprise „SMULKUS URMAS“. Finally, in the year 1992, after privatization, a joint stock company UAB „SMULKUS URMAS“ was registered.

In 1996, when seeking to expand its synergetic activities, the enterprise started developing catering services.

In 2001, the first public catering competition won by the enterprise was the public competition organized by Vilnius city's municipality to organize catering of socially supported people.  

In 2008, brand "Myls" was created and joined all companies catering services for business sector.
